“When we accept ourselves exactly as we are, then we can change” Jung

Welcome to my website. Thank you for taking the time to come and explore this site. I am a research scientist, psychologist and meditation teacher living and working in the UK and I specialise in mind/body/heart/spirit approaches to mental and physical well-being.

In 2009 I had a massive heart attack followed within minutes by a sudden cardiac arrest and my heart stopped for 25 mins. Once resuscitated I remained in a coma for 2 months, unable to communicate with the world outside. Upon awakening I spent the next months and years in rehabilitation and retraining and was planning a new life. But in 2012, just as I was sitting my Master’s in Psychology exams, I was diagnosed with heart failure and an inoperable aneurysm in the left ventricle of my heart which was slowly expanding and could burst. My cardiologist gave me 1-2 years to live, perhaps 3-4, but certainly no more than 5 years he said.

It is now over a decade from when I was given a terminal diagnosis and today I am still alive, engaging in meaningful and purposeful work and flourishing.

This year, during my annual cardiac checkup, I was informed that I no longer had any symptoms of heart failure. My ECG was perfectly normal – previously it had been showing distinctive peaks common to people who have had a heart attack and heart failure. Also the biomarkers, used to diagnose heart failure, were again within the completely normal range.

Please feel free to explore my site further and learn how I achieved this and how you may work with me to support your own wellbeing and flourishing.
